Nissan X-Trail

Nissan revised the X-Trail. In Geneva the new Nissan X-Trail celebrate premiere. Optically the retouchings are very dezent - the Japanese concentrated on the engines and the tuning. In the dimensions the X-Trail wheel base grew by five on 2630 millimeters and the overall length exceeded by 175 to 4630 mm.

Motorizing: The new X-Trail is based on the same C-platform of the Renault/Nissan alliance as the recently introduced Nissan Qashqai. The engine offer extended Nissan of three on four engines. Only the 2,5-Liter-petrol (121 kW/166 HP) was taken over. The other aggregates - Common Rail Turbodiesel with 110 kW/150 HP and 127 kW/173 HP as well as 103 kW/140 HP Benziner - are complete reconstructions. With the petrol-engine a stepless CVT transmission is (optional) alternative.

The 4x4i-System has now two new electronic aids named DDS (Downhill drive support) and USS (Uphill start support). USS is automatically working as a “Hill Holder”, which holds the vehicle to upward gradients from ten degrees and more until the driver actually drives off. In response DDS helps driving downhill. Thus the X-Trail creeps after previous activation of the LOCK mode with maximally seven km/h even steepest departures down, without the driver must step thereby the brake.
